Tree trimming and pruning is a service rendered typically when trees become a safety hazard to people or structures. This service can be provided for aesthetics as well. Sometimes trimming and pruning can take place as a precautionary measure against storms and high winds, which we experience often here in southern Colorado. Trimming the tip section of limbs back to a proper junction can reduce the damage that can occur during snowstorms. Tree care is a basic, but a fundamental piece of taking care of one’s property. Furthermore, when an injury is sustained to an otherwise healthy tree the time to assess the tree is of the essence for a couple of reasons. One is, the tree could decline further. If a tree branch has broken off due to storm damage or other reasons that leave the tree vulnerable. This could lead to insect infestation, which enters through the point of damage to a tree’s Cambium layer (tree’s cell layer responsible for creating new wood and bark). Removing broken limbs by using appropriate pruning techniques is rudimentary for tree care.

Structural or object clearance is another common form of tree trimming. If a tree’s branches are infringing on a structure, one might have the tree branches trimmed back away from a structure or removed entirely. Other examples of trimming for clearance include having limbs trimmed back or removed because it is infringing on smaller trees. Providing ample grow space and access to energy sources are key for smaller trees to thrive. 

Tree removals take place if a tree is dead or for danger concerns or aesthetics. If a tree has become too large or shows signs of obvious distress (i.e. dying) one might remove a tree before it declines further. Trees may also be removed for aesthetics. For example, if a tree is no longer desired due to its location or for any other specific reason by a customer the tree can be removed. It is not uncommon for trees to be removed due to insect infestation or tree disease, which are numerous in nature. Conifer trees are at risk for Mountain Pine Beetle or Ips Beatle , which attack either the trunk of the tree or the top in the canopy. Once a tree is infested the damage is done. Regardless of the reason, Blue Tree will assess the situation and determine the most appropriate method for the removal process. This process could be dropping a tree from the ground if safe to do so. Or climbing the tree due to technicalities such as nearby structures, fences, and power lines. If necessary we will rig pieces down on a block and rope to be safe. 

Stump grinding is an extra service we offer. A machine will grind the stump into the ground for replanting or so a lawnmower can easily drive over the area.
